DMD CuLTURE

Detroit Metro District - Culture and Language, Training and Understanding for Relational Evangelism

The CuLTURE program launched in the Detroit Metro District is an opportunity for individuals to gain Middle Eastern cultural and language training in a safe and affordable setting. The program is based out of Dearborn, Michigan which has the highest concentration of Middle Easterners outside of the Middle East. The goal is to effectively evangelize Middle Easterners (Muslims and Christians) in North America, equip North American Missionaries (NAM) to start churches in the Detroit Metro District, and equip Associates in Missions (AIMers) for the mission field in the Eurasia region.

What is CuLTURE?

  1. Lessons on major religions and denominations of the Middle East.
  2. Exposure to Middle Eastern culture with a focus on evangelism.
  3. Affordable Arabic language lessons by Arabic teachers.
  4. Opportunities to practically apply Middle Eastern cultural knowledge and language training.
  5. Outreach opportunities in Middle Eastern communities in Dearborn, MI.
  6. Real-time mentoring during harvest engagement.

Who can join CuLTURE?

  1. Individuals seeking cultural and language training to evangelize Muslims and Christians from the Middle East living in North America.
  2. Individuals preparing to go on global missions, mainly to Eurasia and North Africa (ENA) and Access Challenged Nations (ACN).

There are two options for the CuLTURE program.

Exposure: Short Term

Come experience Middle Eastern culture right here in Dearborn, Michigan. Gain exposure to this unique field by touring the city, meeting with the CuLTURE team, and learning about opportunities in the area for future involvement through your short term experience.
Application

Immersion: Long Term

Be a part of the harvest by living and working in Dearborn, Michigan, with no time limit. Receive cultural training and real time mentorship. Gain access to affordable Arabic language classes, ESL involvement, and the opportunity to evangelize in a safe environment.
